Description
The SMT-FMC116-SMA-16-Active-DIF is an active signal conditioning board designed to interface external analogue signals with the SMT-FMC116 ADC module. The board is powered from an external 12 V supply and provides flexible input connectivity together with high-impedance signal buffering.
Each of the 16 channels can be configured to accept either a single-ended input through an SMA connector or a differential input through a terminal block. The differential input is intended for low-performance applications where convenient field wiring is required.
The input impedance is selectable between 1 MΩ and 10 MΩ (assembly option – maybe not needed and we stick to 1M), allowing compatibility with a wide range of signal sources. Each channel drives the SMT-FMC116 through a 50 Ω output impedance, providing proper impedance matching to the acquisition system.
The frontend incorporates an active buffer stage with an adjustable trimmer for high-impedance input compensation, enabling optimisation of the frequency response for different source and cable characteristics.
The frontend supports analogue signal bandwidths of up to 100 MHz, making it suitable for a wide range of measurement and data acquisition applications.
