Description
The VCS³ is a small Single-Board-Computer with an AMD© ZYNQ™ device with integrated ARM CPUs and FPGA fabric. Measuring just 30mm x 50mm, this tiny workhorse can be placed almost anywhere, opening up the benefits of FPGAs to many more applications.
This VCS³-DK Dev Kit contains:
- VCS³ with the 2nd iteration of the VCS³ PCB
- AC/DC PSU (Mains – 12VDC) with UK mains power cable
- PicoATX PSU (12V DC in, 12V, 5V, 3.3V out)
- ATX Break out board with 3V3, 5V, 12V, ADJ_V and GND banana sockets
- 3D printed desktop VCS3 holder with integrated fan
- Lynsyn Lite for FPGA JTAG communication and power measurement
- 9 way cable for VCS3 module expansion
- 5 way cable for VCS3 module expansion – CAN bus and UART-1
- Main VCS3 power and UART-0 (Main UART) cable
- JTAG cable to link Lynsyn Lite and VCS3 for debug / development
- UART to USB dongle for UART communication to PC.
All sources for the ZYNQ® are shared on GitHub and target Vivado Standard Edition 2024.2 (free). No sources for the MSP430 system controller.
VCS³-DK supports AMD’s “Bare Metal” and “PetaLinux” tools and more are coming from ongoing developments by Sundance and Early Adaptors.
The VCS³ utilises an AMD UltraScale+ MPSoC coupled with high-speed LP-DDR4 memory to produce a highly compact evaluation platform. Together with four digital camera interfaces, a 9-axis IMU, and a CAN-Bus interface, this platform is ideally suited for autonomous machines, cameras or automation.
